गुरुरात्मवतां शास्ता शास्ता राजा दुरात्मनाम् ।
अथा प्रच्छन्नपापानां शास्ता वैवस्वतो यमः ॥
आत्मवान् लोगों का शासन गुरु करते हैं; दृष्टों का शासन राजा करता है; और गुप्तरुप से पापाचरण करनेवालों का शासन यम करता है (अर्थात् अनुशासन तो अनिवार्य हि है)।
The prudent is punished by the Guru, The wicked is punished by the King and people engaged in committing sins secretly are punished by the lord of death Yama. (ie discipline is mandatory).
