Nyaya - Accepting glass in preference to chintamani(a kind of precious jewel.) The maxim is used to denote that as it is foolish to prefer glass to chintamani which is very precious, so it is likewise an act of foolishness on the part of a man to consider an object valuable led away only by its outward charm.
