अथ व्यवस्थितानदृष्टवा धार्त्रराष्ट्रान् कपिध्वजः।
प्रवृत्ते शस्त्रसम्पाते धनुरुद्यम्य पाण्डवः।।१-२०।।
हृषीकेशं तदा वाक्यमिदमाह महीपते।
सन्धि विग्रहः
अथ व्यवस्थितान्-दृष्टवा धार्त्रराष्ट्रान् कपि-ध्वजः।
प्रवृत्ते शस्त्र-सम्पाते धनुः-उद्यम्य पाण्डवः।।१-२०।।
हृषीकेशम् तदा वाक्यम् इदम् आह महीपते।
श्लोकार्थः
अथ कपि-ध्वजः पाण्डवः धार्त्रराष्ट्रान् व्यवस्थितान् दृष्टवा,
शस्त्र-सम्पाते प्रवृत्ते (सति) धनुः-उद्यम्य
हे महीपते! तदा हृषीकेशम् इदम् वाक्यम् आह ।
शब्दार्थः
1.20 अथ=thereupon व्यवस्थितान्=situated दृष्टवा=looking upon धार्त्रराष्ट्रान्=the sons of Dhritarashtra कपि-ध्वजः=he whose flag was marked with Hanuman प्रवृत्ते=while about to engage शस्त्र-सम्पाते=in releasing his arros धनुः=bow उद्यम्य=taking up पाण्डवः=the son of Pandu (Arjuna) हृषीकेशम्=unto Loard Krishna तदा=at that time वाक्यम्=words इदम्=these आह=said महीपते=O King।
Meaning
1.20: O King, thereupon Arjuna, whose flag bore the crest of Hanuman, seeing the sons of Dhritarastra ready for battle, took up his bow told these words to Lord Krishna.
