श्लोकः
श्रीभगवानुवाच।
पार्थ नैवेह नामुत्र विनाशस्तस्य विद्यते।
न हि कल्याणकृत्कश्चिद् दुर्गतिं तात गच्छति।।६-४०
सन्धि विग्रहः
पार्थ न एव इह न अमुत्र विनाशः तस्य विद्यते।
न हि कल्याण-कृत् कश्चित् दुर्गतिम् तात गच्छति।।६-४०।।
श्लोकार्थः
हे पार्थ! न इह न एव (च) अमुत्र) तस्य विनाशः विद्यते।
हे तात! हि कश्चित् कल्याण-कृत् दुर्गतिम् न गच्छति।
शब्दार्थः
6.40 पार्थ=O son of Pritha न एव=never is it so इह=in this material world न=never अमुत्र=in the next lifeविनाशः=destruction तस्य=his विद्यते=exists न=never हि=certainly कल्याण-कृत्=one who is engaged in auspicious activities कश्चित्=anyone दुर्गतिम्to degradation तात=My friend गच्छति=goes
Meaning
6.40: Sri Bhagavan said:O Son of Partha, neither here, nor hereafter (the other world), destruction exists for him. Never misfortune comes to the one who does good works (kalyānakrt, auspicious activities).
