श्लोकः
श्रीभगवानुवाच।
काम एष क्रोध एव रजोगुणसमुद्भवः।
महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम्।।३-३७।।
सन्धि विग्रहः
कामः एषः क्रोधः एषः रजः गुण-समुद्भवः।
महा-अशनः महा-पाप्मा विद्धि एनम् इह वैरिणम्।।३-३७।।
श्लोकार्थः
श्रीभगवान् उवाच
रजः गुण-समुद्भवः महा-पाप्मा महा-अशनः एषः कामः,
एषः क्रोधः (अस्ति; त्वं) एनम् इह वैरिणम् विद्धि।
शब्दार्थः
3.37 कामः=lust एषः=this क्रोधः=wrath एषः=this रजः गुण=the mode of passion समुद्भवः=born of महा-अशनः=all devouring महा-पाप्मा=greatly sinful विद्धि=know एनम्=this इह=in the material worldवैरिणम्=greatest enemy
Meaning
3.37: Sri Bhagavan said: This is desire; this is anger born of the mode of Rajas (passion), all devouring and greatly sinful. Know this as the enemy here (on earth).
